One of the most important things about basking your bearded dragons is how to bathe them. This is extremely important because it will enable you to see if they are prepared for their baths or not. Also be sure to check on the size of your dragon because they need to bathe when the skin is damp. Here are a few things to remember when giving them baths.

If your bearded dragon has any scales on their legs: then gently remove them so they will not be abrasive to the skin. First soak the scales in warm water for a few minutes then allow them to dry. Afterward gently scrub the scales dry.

Bearded dragons require different kinds of temperatures for their baths: Some will be fine in moderate temperatures, while others are better off in hot water. Be sure you consider this when providing them with their bath. A cold setting will quickly cause your beardie to become dehydrated. This can also result in him becoming sickly and he will become unwell.

You should only bathe your dragon in lukewarm water that is just below the boiling point of water.

If your dragon is going to be in the water temperature: that is around the ankles then you should wrap him in a towel that has been soaked in warm water. It should also be wrapped in a towel that has been soaked in cool water.

By keeping the wrap tight but allow room at the edges you will be able to successfully bathe your bearded dragon.
